Yes, but see the answer in the other question. It’s easy to drop your bags off at a hotel in any of the towns as a base regardless of how you want to break up the hike. There are frequent trains between the 5 towns and there are also boats. - you can get some good photos approaching Vernazza by boat as well as by the trail.
