Can you take a toaster and/or an iron in your luggage without security problems?

Can you take those two items without any problems with security stopping you and asking to open your luggage?I know they have a lot of metals but would security scanners go off etc
I don’t mean on your carry-on. I mean on your luggage, which they place separately on the plane.

    Um, an iron could be a problem considering they don’t even let you bring knitting needles on the plane.

    Oh, in that case, you shouldn’t have a problem… I can’t imagine why you couldn’t bring a toster below the plane… I mean, thats how people move there furniture and stuff when they relocate over seas, right?
