When departing Hawaii for Alaska, can you bring home plants and fruits in your luggage?
CliffS asked:
I understand that there are restrictions for bringing plants and fruit to the mainland, but what about direct flights to Alaska? Alaska doesn’t have a multi-million dollar agricultural industry to protect, nor is it likely these pests will survive in this cold climate.

Do people go to places around Honolulu/Wakiki with their luggage or bags after checking out of the hotel?
Dark Knight asked:
We are going to have about 5 hours to spend doing something (still don’t know what) and that is after checking out of the hotel. I see that usually the flights leave late and that leaves us with some time left. What recommendations do you have on what to do and how to go about carrying our luggages around with us.

May you take beach sand in your luggage on airplane from florida to hawaii?
donm asked:
We are going to Hawaii for Christmas. Some friends there would like for us to bring a little Florida beach sand to her, approximately 5 lbs. Will the TSA allow this to go in the luggage underneath?
