What do you do with your luggage on TGV trains in France?

Is is neccessery to have luggage stored elsewhere or is it OK to take it on the train? If so, where should I put the luggage and where should I collect the luggage at the end of the journey?

I was just wondering because I’m going to be with a large tour group if instead of having to buy alcohol there if i could just check it in my luggage and fly it over with me.
Is checking alcohol in your luggage illegal?
