My research on this has been that you are allowed to take aboard per person 12 waters or sodas or a mixture of both. Krystal

It'll probably be safe enough, but shlepping all your heavy bags up and down many, many flights of subway stairs is going to seriously be a total drag, so I would strongly recommend that you spend a few bucks and take a cab or a car service car, it will be much, much easier that way.

Good luck!... ☺ Duncan The Puppy

I'm guessing that it's on there because the lock is also sold in California, where they have legislated that anything that might remotely cause cancer or birth defects must be labeled.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Could be minute traces of lead, or something in the lubricant. RoofingPrincess

Look on Ebags, you can shop by price, type of luggage, brand name, size, color, etc. Very good website and gives weight and dimensions of individual bags as well as ratings by customers. Patti

I'm pretty sure that they will let you do this and they won't make you check in the empty suitcase. You can also ask them when you check the suitcase in. ChrisMC

+ 1 for Briggs & Riley and their lifetime warranty. They have an amazing collection of luggage (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category/group.aspx?cat=travel ) that’s great for all kinds of travel – business, leisure, adventure, etc. Their luggage is pretty durable and can easily withstand extreme travel conditions, so I would say it’s very reliable for long-haul international travel. Regarding your other question, lightweight options are definitely desirable if you want to remain under the 50 lbs checked bag weight limit. If you want ultra-light luggage, don’t forget to check out Briggs & Riley’s BRX line. This collection has some of the lightest luggage I’ve seen so far. All the best with your trip! Luther

I am sure you can do that, but they will charge you for checked in luggage. When you are coming back you might have to pay for two checked in luggage. Leslie S

try mixing the following into a spray bottle: 1/2 c vinegar + 10-20 drops essential oils+ H2O fill
i would try oils like lavender, clove, cedar wood or any you like. feel free to mix and match
spray this on your luggage and allow to air dry in ventilated area, preferably with sunshine.
at first you will smell the vinegar, but that will fade as it dries. it will also take the "basement smell" with it. there should be a light fragrance of your essential oils in it's place.
feel free to use this mixture for all your febreeze needs. honeypants
