Lets say you had a Laptop that needed repair and you needed to fly to the Technician of your choice…would it be illegal to pack it in your checked luggage..of course it would be packed & wrapped well…but since when you travel with your laptop in your carry on you have to take it out of your bag…would it be the same for laptops in checked luggage?would you get in trouble for packing a broken laptop that doesn’t even turn on?

I’ve gone on at least one flight where I saw people with luggage that you think they would have checked. But they pulled it behind them and left it at the end of the ramp for the workers to store below the plane. When we stopped they picked it up again at the end of the ramp and took it up with them. Someone has said that this may be pink or red tagging but I’m not sure what that is either? Can anyone explain how I can do this?
