Has anyone ever lost luggage at an airport?
LuLu♥ asked:
I always get scared every time I fly because I think my luggage is going to get lost- especially with connecting flights. So I’m wondering if anyone ever experienced getting their luggage lost and did you get it back? Do you think it happens often or am I just paranoid. Thanks in advance. =)

I unfortunately have had my luggage lost at the biggest airport in the country. Now a days if your luggage is lost due to a connection problem or something they will track it threw your ticket because your ticket and your luggage have the same numbers on them so that if it does get lost they will ship it back to you. I got my luggage special delivered to my hotel within 24 hours.
the barcodes they put on the baggage tags make the odds of your bag getting to the destination with you very good. once in awhile if bags don’t make it to the connecting flight because of a time factor, it will be put on the next flight and then be delivered to you. make sure you keep your medication in your carry on bags, adhering to the liquid rules if they aren’t in solid pill form, as well as things you might need immediately upon your arrival. Also, don’t put valuables in your checked baggage, just in case. Then if they have to deliver your luggage to you, you won’t be put out again. Once or twice my bag/bags were delivered to me because they were on the next flight.
I have traveled from Europe and back may times and something like that has never happened to me…It does happen in movies a lot though!LOL
Several times our baggage has been delayed when transferring through London Heathrow- the worst time, we were coming from Washington D.C., and transiting through London to India. It was on July 18-19, 2003, and British Airways groundstaff had gone on strike, which we were notified of when we reached London. Our flight was canceled and the entire airport was chaos, so we waited 7 hours in a customer service line to speak with an airline representative. We did get sent to a hotel and were given a food allowance but received no information about our flight (BA runs only 3 flights to Calcutta weekly). The next day, we returned, and some long haul flights had resumed operation, so we were routed to Bangladesh, and then put on another carrier to India. However, when we reached, our seven bags didn’t. We had to wait 9 days for two of them to arrive, and then two days later, the rest came. At least we got them back, though
also thanks for you.
Delta airlines lost one of mine in Atlanta,it failed to make a connecting flight, one of two bags ,they delivered the lost bag to our hotel 4hours later with the wheel broken off and a huge hole worn in the bag. They attached a note saying they were not responsible.
