Is it legal to pack a megaphone in a carry-on/checked aircraft luggage?

Shouldn’t be a problem:
Most megaphones have a pistol-type grip. It could look like a weapon to security if the bag is x-rayed, and that could cause confusion. You might want to advise the check-in agent the luggage contains a megaphone. That should aviod any confusion. NOLA guy
