I’m leaving for a trip tomorrow, and I’m not sure whether to put my laptop in my suitcase, or take it as a carry on. Is it safe to put it in the luggage?

No!. It could be damaged or lost. Must carry on or leave behind.

NO! NO! NO!! never ever ever put electronics into your luggage! First of all, have you seen the way they treat your bags? they toss them around like they are pillows. Also, there is a higher risk of your laptop being stolen form your luggage. keep it with you. Yes you will have to take the battery out at security and it is more work, but that is better than not having a laptop when you arrive at your destination.

Yeah they are right, for sure not in your suitcase. Carry that shit on or leave it behind.

NO My laptop was stolen last year by me putting it into my checked bag. Take it in your carry-on. The airlines blamed TSA and TSA blamed the airlines. I was out $ 1,600.00 and had to but a new one.

Sure, if you don’t mind it being stolen. All the airlines tell you to NEVER put anything important or valuable in your checked baggage. Theoretically all baggage is x-rayed which makes it easy to know where the goodies are.
