Vamps29 asked:

I’m traveling to London in a few weeks and I wan to bring my ipod and digital ebook on the plane. Since there was problem with terror today I was wondering if you can check your ipod inside your luggage or should I simply not bring it with on my trip? Since the Ipod and computers are delicate are they safe in the cargo hold?

(if you saw this question before sorry I had to edit a little to clarify my question)

These are things you can take leaving from London Keys, Wallets, passports, medicine, glasses, contact lens holders, Baby food, Sanitary items, and tissues. Also you have have a clear plastic bag to carry those items. So it’s not about me voluntary bringing it with me onboard, but if I’m allowed to bring onboard with me.

You can bring laptop, iPod and all on board the plane with you! It makes the trip much easier.

I wouldn’t. Keep it with you.

Sure it is if you are worried about it getting stolen lock it in with a small lock. If you think it is to fragile you can put it between clothes and other soft fabric.

You should be able to just bring ur ipod in ur purse…i have an ipod and i have a small case i take w/ me when i travel on a plane…i have even taken my comp w/ me in a case too on the plane…there shouldnt be any problem, but i guess it could depend on the airline…=)

I always put anything of importance or anything expensive, like jewelry and stuff like that in my carry on bag. Anything that will fit, that you don’t want to take a chance of it getting lost, stolen, or broken…i would carry on the plane.

Make sure you put it between some clothes and it is firmly packed and you should be all good.

I’d either keep with me or leave it. Anything you put into your luggage could easily “sprout legs and walk off”.

you should probably take it w/ you on board cause theres always the possibility of your luggage getting lost.

You can but it’s not a great idea, even with luggage locks.
First, they can cut luggage locks off your luggage.
Second, the airlines limit their liability for lost luggage. For airlines traveling internationally, the limit on liability is $9.07 per pound ($20.00 per kg) for checked baggage and approximately $400 per passenger for unchecked baggage. so if you suitcase weighs 10 pounds, you max recovery for everything in there is under $100. That won’t get you a replacement. Best to carry it on.

its suprising looking at your answers how few people follow the news. I think it would be safe, i brought a bottle of champagne and a bottle of whiskey back in our bag after our honeymoon - just packed clothes round them. i’m sure the security will have slackened by the time you travel. if not, you’ll be pretty bored on the flight!!

Yes it’s safe, as long as you put your iPod among your clothes and dont forget to lock your bag!
