Is it safe to put aerosols in holdall luggage IE: deodorants or shaving foam?
Jabba_da_hut_07 asked:
Will they explode creating a mess in my bag due to the pressure changes. I know they are not allowed in hand luggage for security reasons but are allowed in your main luggage.

Aerosols..
First choice : dont pack em,, buy new ones upon arrival, unless your going into some very remote place.
If you have to take it , place in a ziploc to protect your other stuff.

i always put ours in holdall luggage, always been ok.
You can put them in your hold luggage (i.e. the stuff that gets checked in) but not in your cabin baggage as they count as liquids. You are not allowed to take more than 150ml of liquid in the cabin itself. I also believe that you can’t take any liquids in your cabin baggage to the USA
aerosols are absolutely fine in your hold luggage. As suggested by others, put them in a plastic ziplock bag. I have never had an aerosol explode (as far as I am aware there is no pressure in the hold). I have had the top come off sunscreens and moisturiser (probably my fault for not checking the cap was on tight), so the plastic bag saved my clothes.
Use plastic bags or try to close it hard and before the flight try to clean it.
yeh its ok to put them into either hand luggage or hold luggage
You can put them in either hold or cabin but they must be no more than 100mls (not 150mls as someone else said) and all liquids must fit comfortably in a clear plastic resealable bag no more than 20cms x 20cms, if going in hand luggage. If possible put in hold luggage though as it saves alot of hassle and stops over zealous security staff making you throw it away.
hi there i work for BA in the terminals and with regards to aerosols you are allowed them in both checked and hand baggage you can take no more than 2kg in checked baggage and no more than one can in hand baggage.
If in doubt go to the airlines website and enquire about carriage of dangerous goods ie aerosols and they should advise you further as most airlines can differ in regulations.
hope this helps
