Is there a liquid limit and how you can store it in your luggage?

Hi, I am soon going to be a first time flier. In my luggage is there a certain way I have to store my liquids and how much I can bring? I know you do for carry on items but I am not wanting to carry any liquid on with me, just my suitcase that will not be carried on with me.

There is no limit to the liquids you can put into your checked luggage.
I recommend making sure all lids are shut tight, and place any bottles or jars into a sealed ziplock bag before placing into your suitcase. You don’t want all of your belongings soaked with shampoo, olive oil or whatever due to pressure changes or poor baggage handling. Jennifer B
There is a limit of 70 ounces of personal hygiene aerosols sprays per passenger. Some airlines you need to have special permission to bring cooking oils (British Airways for example) so it’s better to check first before planning on bringing those. I don’t know of any specific limit for liquids, more like a limit of pounds per piece of luggage, it varies by airlines so check their website. When I travel overseas and bring such items as bottles of maple syrup, honey and pure vanilla, I put each item in a plastic bag and then wrap them very well with bubble wrap and put them in a hard plastic box putting additional soft items in the box so the liquids don’t rattle around. (One of those plastic boxes the size of a shoebox with an attached lid works well. I also put a large rubber band around the lid to make sure it doesn’t pop open during the flight.) If you are bringing some bottles of wine you may be able to find a styro-foam carrier for them, each bottle has a special place in the carrier so they don’t bump together. Patti
