Still luggage problems at Terminal 5, Heathrow?

I´m going to the US from continental europe via terminal 5, and I understand that there has been a lot of problems with people loosing their luggage.
Is it still a big risk? Should I try to find a different route?

Everything should be back to normal now. I was at LHR T5 three days ago and my luggage arrived safely in Stockholm Sweden.
And this surprised me. I had arrived from Johannesburg. My BA flight to Stockholm canceled. I was rebooked to SAS and all my luggage was on the same plane
This was during the crazy weather cancellation days, now it should be ok. Lobengula
Its British Airways, they have ALWAYS had luggage problems. BA lose over 1000 bags everyday at Heathrow alone. Why anyone still books with them is beyond me! Informer
