Suggestions for Carry On Luggage with Laptop compartment?
booterfloo asked:
I need some suggestions for a carry on luggage piece that holds enough clothes for a few days business trip AND has a laptop compartment. The Tumi Elements 18″ Convertible looked like a good choice, but it is approx $500. This is well over my budget. Can anyone give any suggestions that would be $200 or less. Thank you.
The bag needs to be able to hold 2 or 3 suits and an additional 2 or 3 outfits as well as toiletries. I don’t want to check any luggage.
I am only looking for one bag that fits the criteria. The 2nd item allowed on is already accounted for.

This is a bit over budget, but nice (Eagle Creek is a good brand):=
Check out your local KMart or Walmart. They often have some really nice stuff that will fit your needs.
If you want to get something a bit better in quality. Check out a Samsonite store (or something similar). They should have something in stock that can fit within the regulations of carry on but have enough space for your laptop.
Don’t forget you can bring on two pieces of luggage so in a pinch you should be able to pack your suitcase with your clothes and bring along your laptop bag too.
Also, if you aren’t going to check your luggage in, be mindful of the liquid restrictions for carry on. Anything from home that is more than 3.4 oz and/or doesn’t fit in your 1 alloted quart size ziploc bag WILL be confisicated by security.
Good luck and happy travels!
I might be stating the obvious but have you considered 2 bags? I believe most airlines allow 2 bags, usually one “luggage” and one “personal”. The personal bag can be a laptop. The only catch is that if you are taking a small plane for a connection to another airport you may be required to check the bag.
