Kitchen Diva asked:

Most airlines in the USA now charge as much as $50 for check-in luggage and just recently, one airline has announced that it will be charging $25 for carry-on luggage too. So now not only do we pay for ourselves to fly but we have to pay for our luggage to fly with us!

How is it with the airlines in the Philippines? Are they imposing this ludicrous policy too?

We’re flying on vacation next week, and we have a preferred soda that can’t easily be purchased. We’d like to pack a twelve-pack of it in our luggage, wrapped in plastic bags. Is this safe? Or do we need to worry about the carbonated sodas exploding? Is the luggage hold of airplanes pressurized, like the cabin?

I am flying from New York City to Stockholm Sweden. I have never experienced a layover before, but I have an hour long one in Iceland. The airline I am flying on is Iceland Air. Now, what I was wondering is whether or not I will have to physically go and collect my checked luggage and re-check it in Iceland, or will they transfer it from airplane to airplane for me?

Does anyone know if any compensation can be claimed from an airline if they lose your luggage on an inbound flight (going home). I stay in the EU and the flight was within the EU but I’m not sure if that makes any difference. Thanks in advanced…
I was returning from Larnaca Airport to Glasgow Airport with Oylimpic Holidays flying with the airline Eurocypria.

I missed a USAirways flight with one connection, but my baggage was sent ahead of me. I may need to book a flight with a different airline now (must arrive at destination as soon as possible). What will happen to my luggage if I fly a different airline? Will it be at my destination?

Yes, I am in airport on hold (for over 20 minutes now) with the airline trying to get this question answered! :-)

I wish to bring a guitar from the U.S. as hand luggage. I know the baggage size limit is 56cm x 45cm x 25 cm per bag, but if it is let in the cargo luggage, it might damage the guitar. Please help.
