Do airlines in asia regularly check the weight of passengers cabin luggage?

I have found a bag that fits within the standard cabin luggage dimensions, but i know if i fill it, it will exceed the weight for economy passengers which is generally around 7kgs. I am interested to know from people who travel regularly if they have ever had an airline actually check the size or weight of the carry on cabin luggage bag.

If travelling by air in a family group, is the checked in luggage weighed collectively or individually?

I am going overseas with my husband and 3 children travelling by air (economy) . If our baggage allowance is 20kg each, will all our luggage be weighed collectively at the check-in counter - so that we can take up to 100kg or do they weigh each persons luggage separately?
