OK, we’re going on holiday to Lebanon tomorrow morning through Alitalia, and we’re stopping over in Rome. There’s 6 of us and we have like 7 or 8 luggage cases together, along with 2 laptop bags and a backpack. What are the chances our luggage gets lost?

In 20 years of travelling abroad, thats about forty times, we have lost our luggage once, so work that one out, but I do know people who lost theirs on their first trip abroad.
Mark it well inside and out and hope for the best! We got it back three days into our seven day holiday.
Make sure you have tags on everything! Inside and out! You should be perfectly fine. I have been on many trips and have only lost my luggage twice but they had it to me within a few days. If you want to be safe. Pack a change of clothes for each person in their carry on. Have a safe trip.
