What happens to my luggage when I have connecting flights?
josh.rofl asked:
I’m going to be flying from Canada to Argentina, and I have 3 layovers. What happens to my luggage between flights — do I have to pick it up at the carousel before my next flight? How’s that work…?

If your bag is checked all the way thru to Argentina they will hold your bag until your next flight and then they will automaticly put it on your next flight. if your conection is thru the USA and you go thru Immigration and customs in Canada you should be good. If the airport your flying from in Canada does not have Pre Clearnce to USA you might have to get your bags… to be sure ask them when you check in.

dear Josh,
usually the airline in canada will issue a tag from your airport of origin to your final destination, they will notify you if anything else.
be careful, lots of connecting flights with short layover include a higher risk of losing your luggage and hacing delays of recovering them. B K
You are not suppose to be bothered about how your luggage is been transferred between connecting flights but for the sake of conscience and rest of mind, you may need to ask same question from the crew as you connect flights.

or are the separate airlines
some airlines have interline agreements others don’t
