My Celebrity cruise leaves the 15th of Feb. I’ve heard that they send you luggage tags? What are these? How soon should I get them?

Luggage tags for a cruise line are very important because they are just like the airline luggage tags; they direct you luggage to your cabin.

When you get to the pier to board the ship you will hand over your luggage to a porter who will take it to the place where it is scanned, same as at the airport, and then loaded on the ship. Then the ship’s personnel use the luggage tags to tell them where your luggage should go, what cabin. You will take your carry-on bags on ship yourself and they will also go through a scanner just like the belt at the airport and then you carry them on. So the luggage tags are absolutely necessary for you to get your luggage.

You should receive your cruise documents about 15 to 30 days before your cruise and the information you receive will have luggage tags. In most cases the tags will have your name printed on them and for sure your cabin number and the date of your sailing. You will receive a maximum of three luggage tags per person in your cabin. Since I usually have no more than two pieces of checked luggage I always put the other tag on my carryon so that if I set it down somewhere and forget it it will have a tag on it.

When you are ready to get off the ship at the end of the cruise you will receive a different set of luggage tags the day before your cruise ends. These will be color coded and are used to determine the order that you exit the ship. Those with the earliest flight and/or who use the “express departure” will go first. The ship’s personnel will then announce when the next color can leave the ship. TINKERTOY ….. the 1 & only

Your cruise luggage tag will have your cabin number and deck level (sometimes your name too).
When you board the ship, your large bags will checked with the porter, and they will use the luggage tags to identify your cabin and deliver your luggage.
your travel may provide the tags, or the porter at the luggage check in will give you a tag.

Whenever you travel you need regular luggage tags. When you take a cruise, you need special luggage tags that you will get from the porter at the cruise terminal. Make sure it has your ships name on it as well as your correct cabin number. Be sure that every bag that you check has one.
    Thats it!

    Hope I helped! Lets cruise!

Luggage tags are tags that you put on each piece of luggage. They have the name of the ship and your stateroom number. There’s usually a different color for each deck. The tag tells the porter where to take your luggage.
You will board the ship with only your carry ons. Your luggage will take up to a few hours to get to your stateroom. Dorothy C

All cruise lines used to send very nice luggage tags. More and more, they are not sending anything, but asking you to download them. It is really nothing to worry about, because if you don’t get them in advance, they will have plenty at the pier. sally b

You can print them off the computer. The cruise lines website will have all your info. you will just have to set up a log in. Then print out your tags for ALL your luggage pieces. My last cruise I didn’t put the tags on until I got to the pier. I was flying there and did not want them ripped. I brought some tape with me and taped them on. Kim
