I just bought a TSA-approved luggage lock at Target. When I opened it, I discovered a warning on the package that the lock contains a chemical known to cause cancer and birth defects. Wash hands after using.

What could be in a LOCK that is so dangerous that you can’t touch it?

Sort of makes it seem unfit for use. Why would they sell that?

I’m guessing that it’s on there because the lock is also sold in California, where they have legislated that anything that might remotely cause cancer or birth defects must be labeled.
    I wouldn’t worry about it.
Could be minute traces of lead, or something in the lubricant. RoofingPrincess

why stress? every time you step into the sun, you run the risk of contracting cancer from the sun’s rays. aanglea

Probably has some lead in it. Patti
