hi, we ran into the same problem and ended up using UPS.
remember to write gift on the outside of the box to save on customs fees.
the price depends entirely on how heavy the package is so you will only know the cost when you take it UPS. BTW, do not use a packing service, go directly to a UPS center.
for the future…..anytime you have a large amount to send, its far cheaper to send by frieght as long as you have no time restrictions and have a contact on both sides of the atlantic to handle any issues or signatures.
