There’s no specific limit. The policy says it should be a “reasonable amount.” You’d have to go pretty crazy with it to have a problem. Basically whatever you can drag onboard under your own steam is probably going to be okay. I’ve seen women with four and five suitcases before.
The RCCL policy is:
“Each guest is permitted to carry a reasonable amount of personal property (including luggage) aboard the vessel; however, for your comfort and convenience, it is recommended that you limit the number of pieces you take. Keep in mind that airlines may charge for excess or oversize luggage. Charges incurred for excess or oversize baggage are the sole responsibility of the passenger.”

the luggage goes in your room, so it shouldn’t matter. [10 Years] later
Keep in mind that your luggage must fit under your bed. Dorothy C
Hey Cays, what a great question for me! I had long forgotten Sea Chests and Steamer Trunks were integral to cruise travel in the ‘old days’.
The answer is it varies and as somebody commented the lines usually say ‘reasonable’. However what’s reasonable for a 3 day weekend is much different than what’s so for a month long journey.
It’s probably safe to say that…if you can get it to the port of embarkation…you’ll get it on board. Your biggest problem is storage space after unpacking as cabins are generally small. If your cases won’t fit under a bed, don’t take them. If you and your cabin mates can’t fit all of your suitcases under the beds…you’ve taken too much. Hope this helps. Have fun on the ‘floating city’!! RJ R J
