What kind of weapons can I put in my luggage?
John W asked:
I’m in Colorado and I bought a bullwhip, a slingshot, and a knife. I know I can’t put them in my carry-on, but would it be a problem if I just put them in my regular luggage? I’m flying back to PA in a few days.

Check the TSA website. As you say, you would have to put them in your checked luggage if they are even allowed. Don’t know what the chances are that they would still be there when you get the bags at your destination, though.
Flying within the USA a bullwhip and a slingshot in your check-in luggage are not a problem at all, a knife only if it is extremely long. In case of doubt, phone the airport before you travel.
Often you can get your luggage checked and sealed before you check it in. If you can you will be sure that it is allowed and will not be opened by security, which will improve your chances of not loosing your things while in the flight.
I got a lot of my knowledge on weapons in flights from this forum:
In case you want confirmation, the guys (and girls) there do know the rules. Although as any forum, you will need to double check, as people will quote from their own experience.
those should all be fine as long as they are in your checked luggage
According the the TSA’s (Transportation Security Administration) website, you can put these items into your checked luggage. There are actually no restrictions on the length of a knife put into checked luggage - however, it must be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers, inspectors, etc.
