Both the countries are very strict on security checking,
To keep u occupied ,if u have reading habit you can pack up some books. More over in flight facilities are available like you can watch different channels , there will be Video games etc.
In your hand carry please avoid liquid items , any sharp objects etc .
You can also carry your laptop in addition to your hand carry.
Be prepared to remove your shoes in Dubai Airport***
